Stretch, creak, snap, crackle, pop... oooh!
28 days in the hospital will give you such a crick in the neck... or back.
But enough about me already...
SO... finally... after many days of waiting and a roomie change. Now the room belongs to us as we are the elder occupants... squatter's rights... er more like layer's rights. Anyway, we finally got the long awaited and anticipated CT scan.
Now we just have to... umm... wait some more while it's being looked at. Then I suspect there will be yet another meeting/pow wow about if de-bulking is an option. Of course that all depends on what this CT shows.
For CTs they usually want her to take a oral contrast in addition to having a contrast injected. She had to be NPO last night because of the need for sedation for any tests as it's too uncomfortable for her to one - lat flat and two - lay still. Without fail, the mornings of NPO nights make her thirsty... lucky for her she gets to drink contrast... 20 oz in 60 minutes. She drank it all right... with a little too much gusto. She quickly drank about half of it and well... it didn't take long for it to come back.
The consensus then was that there was enough contrast in there to go ahead and scan. If for some reason, the images aren't clear enough or good enough, then there was a mention of a MRI instead.
So again, it's waiting time, though we've been waiting and waiting for this day, the day that we finally got the CT in. The next phase hinges on what the CT results show.

At times unwanted, but often are we uncomfortably thrust into living with it. To borrow part of a line from the movie Heartbreak Ridge, "You adapt, you overcome"...
In memory of Emmah ~ KEIYH
A small request... please
I have a small request and it won't take up much of your time.
Now that Emmah's spirit has left her physical body behind and has completed it's journey "home" I would very much like if you could all take a moment and reflect on Emmah... whether you knew her personally or not. Let us know how she touched/affected or made a difference in your life.
I especially would like to hear from those of you who know/knew her, what your fondest memory or memories of her are. Funny stories and what you remember her likes and dislikes to be (no matter what they are) and what word/words you would use to describe her.
In order to keep all of those thoughts in one place, please, please use this link only for this purpose only.
Thank-you
KEIYH
