And some things keep you grounded in the here and now.
So with Emmah's passing, there's been a bit of shakeup in the car seat positioning. Lyndsey, Jakob and Rachael sat in the last row and Ana, Nick and Emmah sat in the middle row. Rachael wanted out of the last row and Ana wanted in the last row. Jakob "graduated" to the middle row and with that perhaps came the impetus for Rachael wanting in on that middle seat action. So yesterday, I moved Ana in the back with Lyndsey.
When it was time to get kids form school and Emmah was in the mix, she used to sit in the front seat... as in passenger. Jake, Nick and Ana in the middle and Lyndsey and Rachael in the rear. Then when Emmah was unable to go to school, she would keep an eye on the girls when I went to pick the other kids. Nick started sitting in the passenger's seat. He's continued to do so.
So today I had Ana and Lyndsey in the back. Picked up Jake and Rachael and they sat in the middle and off we went to get Nick. There is a 40 minute difference in release times between the two schools... Nick getting out 40 minutes later. Since it doesn't make much sense to go home for 15-20 minutes, I go directly from picking up Jake and Rachael. With any luck, Ana and Lyndsey will use this time to nap. Sometimes I use this time to sneak in a nap myself.
So there we are sitting in "line" with all the other cars waiting. I'm resting and listening to the chatter within the truck. I hear Rachael say, "Something fell from the sky." Now with the weather being fairly decent and sunny, I opened the sunroof about 6-8" or so and thought that if anything was falling from the sky, it would have hit me and not her behind me. So I'm wondering what the heck is going on. Rachael is sitting directly in front of Ana... she then asks Ana what was she throwing at her.
Ana's reply... "Boogers"
