It's the little things in life that either get you through, or drive you nuts.
This one falls into the drive ya nuts category. There's a little fridge in the room and it is does a fine job as a freezer. I have yet to find the threshold from properly chilled/cold to frozen solid. So I'm sitting here waiting for my block of milk to thaw.

Wasting time...
What else do I have to do here?
How rare is the palindrome date? Well what I found out (in my pitiful research) is that there are 12 palindrome dates (the article didn't list all of them, only a few) in the 21st century.
Assuming we use the MM-DD-YYYY format there are 12. The first was 10-02-2001. Yesterday's (01-02-2010) was the second. The third one will be 11-02-2011. I strongly suspect that I won't be around for the last one of the century. Very few... if any... that are reading this today will be around for the last... 09-02-2090.
Since I don't have much else to do here I was thinking about figuring out the rest... without looking them up.
This could take a while with my "skills".
02-02-2020... 12-02-2021... 03-02-2030... 04-02-2040... 05-02-2050... 06-02-2060... 07-02-2070... and 08-02-2080. I think that's it.
Hmm, that didn't take nearly as long I though it would... now what to do with the rest of my day?

but there is a palindrome among us... and it's today!
01-02-2010... or in other words 01022010.
It's only the second one of the 21st century... so enjoy it! Don't ask me how to enjoy it, just revel in knowing it's a rare day indeed.

The first of the new decade...
First posting of the new year and the new decade.
Emmah and I are kickin' it with Welch's Sparkling White Grape Juice Cocktail... well we kicked it and now she's texting. This is all after getting a visit from Julie and the rest of the kids... nice to see them... and celebrating a tad early at around 9pm... figured it was the New Year somewhere right?
As I look out the hospital window to the street below and the skyline beyond, it looks like the same old year to me. I hope and pray that first impressions aren't lasing ones as we need to break this cycle of crap luck.
